Position Overview:

As a Social Media Moderator, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and reputation of our company's online presence across various social media platforms. You will engage with our online community, enforce community guidelines, and foster positive interactions. Your role is pivotal in ensuring a safe, welcoming, and constructive environment for our audience.

Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor Social Media Livestreams: Regularly monitor all company-related social media livestreams to identify and address any inappropriate content, spam, or violations of community guidelines.

  2. Enforce Community Guidelines: Enforce community guidelines and terms of service to maintain a respectful and safe environment for users. Take appropriate action, such as removing offensive comments or banning disruptive users, in accordance with company policies.

  3. Respond to User Inquiries: Engage with users by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries promptly and professionally. Provide accurate information, assistance, and support as needed.

  4. Manage User Reports: Review user reports of inappropriate content, harassment, or other violations and inform management immediately. Investigate reported issues thoroughly and take appropriate action in a timely manner.

  5. Moderate User-Generated Content: Moderate user-generated content, including comments, posts, and images, to ensure compliance with guidelines and maintain a positive brand image.

  6. Educate Users: Educate users on community guidelines and acceptable behavior through proactive communication and outreach efforts.

  7. Stay Informed: Stay informed about social media trends, platform updates, and emerging issues related to online moderation. Keep abreast of best practices and implement strategies to improve moderation processes.

  8. Collaborate with Team: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address issues and implement effective moderation strategies.

  9. Maintain Documentation: Keep detailed records of moderation activities, including flagged content, user interactions, and outcomes, for reporting and analysis purposes.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in social media management, community moderation, or customer support.

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, their features, and community dynamics.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse audiences.

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Familiarity with social media management tools and moderation software is a plus.

  • Commitment to upholding company values and fostering a positive online community.

Additional Information:

  • This is a part time volunteer position. Flexible hours are required to accommodate social media activity outside of standard business hours.

  • Occasional weekend and evening work may be necessary to monitor social media channels during peak engagement times or in response to urgent issues.

  • The successful candidate will undergo training on company policies, community guidelines, and moderation protocols.
